Sustainability Governance

Sustainability governance at New Britain Palm Oil Limited (NBPOL) is aligned with the SD Guthrie Group sustainability framework, ensuring consistent standards, oversight and accountability across all operating regions.
 

Strategic sustainability direction, policies and performance oversight are guided at the SD Guthrie Group level, while implementation and execution are managed locally by NBPOL’s leadership and sustainability teams in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.

At the Group level, sustainability governance is overseen by SD Guthrie’s senior management, including the Chief Sustainability Officer, who provides strategic direction, policy guidance and performance oversight for NBPOL’s sustainability agenda.
 

NBPOL provides regular sustainability updates and performance data to the Group, supporting consolidated environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting and continuous improvement.

At the operational level, sustainability is managed through a dedicated NBPOL sustainability structure that ensures consistent implementation across all sites. This includes:

• A Head of Sustainability providing overall coordination and leadership
• Group‑level specialists covering sustainability, environment, safety and health
• Site‑based sustainability managers and specialists responsible for day‑to‑day implementation, monitoring and stakeholder engagement
• This structure supports cross‑site collaboration, effective risk management and alignment with Group sustainability objectives.
